If the invitation says nothing, look at what the family is wearing: a tuxedo is never wrong at a reception, but an evening bandhgala may sit more easily among the other guests. What is an Indo-western tuxedo?
"Indo-western tuxedo" is a designer term for a tuxedo-style outfit with Indian elements: embroidery, embellished lapels, a bandhgala collar, velvet or brocade. They are made for sangeets and cocktail evenings. They are not black tie; if the invitation is strict, wear a classic tuxedo.

What should the groom's brothers and friends wear if the groom is in a tuxedo?

Is a tuxedo right for a destination wedding?
